Argentine physicist Miguel Virasoro (Universidad de General Sarmiento, Argentina) was awarded the ICTP’s 2020 Dirac Medal and Prize, together with André Neveu (University of Montpellier) and Pierre Ramond (University of Florida), “for their pioneering contributions to the inception and formulation of string theory which introduced new Bosonic and Fermionic symmetries into physics". ICTP, located in Trieste, is an international research institute for physical and mathematical sciences that operates under a tripartite agreement between the Italian Government, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). #argentinaindia #argentinos #iaea #unesco #internationalatomicenergyagency #stringtheory #physicist #ictp #diracmedal2020 #physicalsciences #mathematicalscience #internationalresearch #Cienciaargentina #universidadgeneralsarmiento
