3 tons SAOCOM 1b (Satélite Argentino de Observación con Microondas, Spanish for Argentine Microwaves Observation Satellite) equipped with an L-band (about 1.275 GHz) full polarimetric synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) was launched on 30 August 2020 on a Space X Falcon 9 rocket. With this satellite Argentina completes its constellation that will help predict and monitor the mitigation of natural disasters.
