GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

Visas

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THOROUGHLY AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU FULFILL ALL THE REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY LAW, TO AVOID ANY DELAY IN THE PROCESS. 

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Please note that it is strictly prohibited to call on the Emergency number of the Consulate for visa queries, as it is exclusively reserved only for the Argentine citizens in distress.

Also note that phone calls or personal visits to the Consulate without an appointment are not permitted.

- Passengers in TRANSIT to other destinations, who stay in the premises of the Argentine International Airport for less than 12 hours, are not required to have a visa stamped on their passport.

- All queries related to visas and verification requests must be emailed only on the official email address of the Visa section. Emails sent to any other email address of the Consulate will not receive a response.

- Applications must be presented at least 4 (four) weeks before the expected date of travel.

- Visa applications are generally processed in the order that they are received. However, the time frame varies depending on the type of visa requested and the time taken to fulfill all the requirements.

- The intervention of agents is NOT compulsory to perform paperwork and proceedings at this Consulate. 

- Visa application forms must be hand-written by the applicants in BLUE ink. It should be printed on 3 (three) separate pages and NOT back-to-back. 

Kindly note: visa applications with incomplete documentation will not be accepted.

- A separate visa application form is required for each traveller, regardless of age.
One recent passport size photograph must be pasted on page 3 of the Visa application form as per the given specifications.

- Intentionally submitting false information either on the visa application form itself or during the visa interview can lead to permanent ineligibility to enter Argentina. Never sign the application you are submitting without reviewing it first for accuracy.

-  The personal interview conducted by the Consul is mandatory by law and admits no exceptions.

Kindly note: You are strongly advised to book only Dummy reservations until you receive your passport with the stamped visa, and the payment of the visa fee is mandatory in order to initiate the visa process that includes verification of documents, visa interview and visa stamping. If the visa is denied, refund is not applicable for any of the visa categories.

For MINORS under the age of 18 years, traveling with only 1 parent: They require an authorization from who exercises parental rights. In case both parents exercise the mentioned rights, the two (both) parents should accompany them at the time of the personal interview. (The visa form of a minor must be signed by all who exercise parental rights, even though both the parents are traveling together).

- Fee Deposits are made in Indian Rupees at the Forex conversion rate of the day (as per Consular Units decided by the Consulate)

- If your place of residence is in Maharashtra, you can apply for a visa at the Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in Mumbai. Address: Chander Mukhi Building, 10th Floor, Nariman Point 400 021 Mumbai.

- If your place of residence is in Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India - except Maharashtra - it is advisable to apply for a visa at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in New Delhi. Address: F-3/3 Vasant Vihar, New Delhi 110057.

- However, applicants for a Transitory Visa (short duration) from any state of India may apply at the Consulate in Mumbai or in any other Argentine Consulate in the world.

- Please write to the Visa section at for additional information on visas not covered in the following sections.

- Visa fee must be paid only after receiving the receipt (INTRA) from the Consulate as the amount is subject to change, depending upon the Dollar rate.

- COVID-19 and Yellow Fever vaccination is not a requirement for Indian citizens to enter Argentina.

How to apply for the Visa and what is the further process?

1) Please email all the documents for verification as per the list of requirements applicable for your visa category (consular_cgmum@mrecic.gov.ar)

[The Visa form must be hand-written by the applicants in BLUE ink and point 51 must mention applicant´s full name as per passport in BLUE ink and BLOCK letters along with signature]

2) On finishing the verification process, we shall give an appointment to submit the application in hard copy. On the day of the appointment, Dummy reservation of flight tickets and hotel must be valid. Documents SHOULD NOT be stapled or punched. Please use U pins instead. Also, back-to-back printouts of any document, including Bank statements, WILL NOT be accepted

3) Visa interview shall be conducted on the date of appointment.

4) Collection date for passport will be confirmed after the Visa interview (Visa stamping process could take up to 3 working days)

5) If Visa fee is applicable, payment details will be shared on email before the date of appointment. Please note that the payment of the visa fee is mandatory in order to initiate the visa process that includes verification of documents, visa interview and visa stamping. If the visa is denied, refund is not applicable for any of the visa categories.

PLEASE NOTE the following mandatory requirements, without which, the verification process cannot be initiated.

- While attaching files on email, please ensure that each document is presented in the same order as the checklist, named and numbered accordingly. For example,

1. Visa form

2. Passport copy

All the documents must be presented on email as attachments in PDF or JPEG format only, should be a coloured scan and must be legible

The subject title of the email should be 'Verification request - (purpose of travel -  Tourism/Business/Joining ship, etc) - (applicant's name)’

If all the documents cannot be accommodated in one single email, you may divide the documents and send them in 2 to 3 parts. Subject title must include 'Part 1', ‘Part 2’, etc. along with applicant's name.
