Malbec World Day: Mumbai witnessed the potential of the Argentine wine

On April 17, Malbec World Day, an annual celebration created by Wines of Argentina, the Argentine Consulate and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic organized a wine tasting at “Pali Bhavan” restaurant, in Churchgate.

Following this year’s motto, “Your Malbec Your Call”, Indian experts, sommeliers and enthusiasts of wine had the opportunity to enjoy Argentina´s Malbec their own way, with spontaneity and without prejudice, and find out more information firsthand from importers who make our wine available in this city and nearby.

This event was possible thanks to the support given by Anggels Share, importer of Alta Vista Wines; Flipsydee, importer of Mythic Wines; Wine Park, importer of Susana Balbo Wines and Riccitelli Wines; Sonarys, importer of Tinto Nero Wines; Brindco, importer of Bodega Norton Wines; and Ace Beveragez, importer of Argento Wine.

Noted for its intense dark colour and fruit explosion, Malbec offers a wide range of aromatic profiles associated with its terroir. In general, its aromas are reminiscent of cherries, strawberries, plums, raisins and black pepper and in some cases, cooked fruits. Aged in oak, it acquires notes of coffee, vanilla and chocolate. In the mouth it fills the palate with its sweet, silky tannins.

Refined, vigorous and balanced, Malbec offers a diversity of styles that reflect its incredible potential. It is the quintessential red wine to accompany any Indian dish, as highlighted Nikhil Agarwal, wine consultant, sommelier, and guest of honour and speaker in this edition.

Taking opportunity of this celebration, the Argentine Consulate and Promotion Center also conducted a marketing campaign through Social media to highlight many spots across Mumbai where Malbec is available, taking Malbec World Day beyond this date.
