The Minister of External Affairs of India, made an official visit to Argentina to hold meetings with President Alberto Fernández to discuss the progress of the bilateral agenda and analyze regional and global events. Minister Jaishankar also co-chaired with Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister Santiago Cafiero the Argentina-India Joint Commission Meeting. Mr. Cafiero highligthed the interest on diversifying the export offer while Mr. Jaishankar gave Indian support to Argentina´s entry to the BRICS block. There was agreement on improving cooperation in the fields of: high technologies, information and communication technologies (ICTs), food security, agribusiness, conventional and renewable energies and mining. These meetings follow the April 2022 visit to India of Mr. Cafiero and the meeting of President Fernández and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G-7 Meeting in Germany last June.
