Remarkable performance by Argentine athlete at the First Sport Yogasana World Championship

Argentina had an outstanding performance at the first World Sports Yoga Championship—held from June 4 to 8 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat—thanks to the brilliant performance of athlete Nabila Barraza, who won five medals across various events and secured third place for the country in the overall medal standings.

Barraza, a native of Rosario, competed in the Senior A category, designated for athletes aged 28 to 35. She won silver medals in the Traditional Yogasana (individual), Forward Bend (individual), and Supine Pose (individual) categories. Additionally, she took home gold medals in the Backbend (individual) and Twisting (individual) competitions.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Nabila received a bronze statuette—recognizing Argentina as the country with the third-highest number of awards at the world championship—as well as the trophy for the event's best female athlete.

Nabila, a certified yoga instructor, visited the Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in Mumbai both before and after the competition; the Consulate provided assistance to ensure her participation in this major event, where she proudly represented her country in its sky-blue and white colors.

Congratulations, Nabila!
